General Area Distribution Requirement

This requirement is to be completed before the prelim written exam requirement. To assure that graduates acquire a broad knowledge of psychology, all graduate students are required to demonstrate competency in four general content areas. The general content areas are:

  5. Industrial/Organizational

  6. Learning and Memory

  7. Measurement

  8. Personality

  9. Psychopathology

  10. Quantitative Methods and Research Methodology

  11. Sensation and Perception

  12. Social

  13. Statistics

The following is an alphabetical list of 13 general psychology topic areas and the courses that will fulfill the General Area Distribution Requirements. A course with an asterisk (*) is listed under more than one area but can be used to satisfy one requirement only.
